This dual role will see you hunting for new business and working with the installed base to drive instrument sales through replacement, added capacity, and competitor displacement. Application support responsibilities include running instrument demos, customer training, and support. This role will require you to participate in a matrixed sales environment, working closely with account management team, service team, and other functions.

Core responsibilities as Technical Sales Specialist - Protein Purification - Ireland

  • Through value-based selling understand and challenge customer requirements in order to help them achieve their business objectives.
  • Drive sales of chromatography systems and consumables by providing business solutions that enhance customer outcomes
  • Provide high level technical expertise during pre-sales discussions, instrument demos, customer training, post-sales support, seminars, tenders, workshops, and promotional events
  • Negotiate contracts and close orders with end users and purchasing departments and support all procurement processes
  • Attend and support through technical and business presentations, when required, tradeshows, user meetings, and customer seminars
  • Be responsive to customers' needs, as well as to conditions and trends that affect them and work independently to manage customer relationships

In order to apply you should meet all or most of the following criteria:

  • Degree or higher in a Life Sciences subject
  • A working knowledge of Chromatography from a Protein Purification perspective is essential
  • Extensive hands-on experience with ÄKTA chromatography systems and Unicorn software. Experience with ÄKTA Pure and/or ÄKTA Avant is desirable
  • Experience of the bioprocess industry is desirable, but not essential
  • A strong analytical mind-set with the ability to collect and understand competitive market intelligence
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Have the ability to effectively manage multiple projects
  • Must be able to act independently and work cross-functionally
  • Effective at building customer relationships
  • MUST live in Ireland
